Today, due to increase of different commodities, legislators are recommending some solutions to help consumers lessen the burden. One of them is to convince SMS providers in the Philippines (SMART & GLOBE are the major wireless telecommunication companies in the country that provides this service) to provide a free text messaging services or to decrease the cost of the text messages (the current cost per send text messages is P1.00). These recommendations, of course, were all refused by the said companies.

Their point is that when it becomes free there will be a lot of network problems will happen to their system since the Philippines is a very "high-traffic" text messaging country. The said idea of a free text messages is really beneficial to the people but it will let them not to value every text messages that they will throw in the air. My suggestion is that SMS companies should provide at least a lesser cost of text messages. If this happens well, every thumb of the Filipinos will have a great "KALYO" (thicken skin).
